To the editor:

Kudos to Brandon Irvine for the general idea of his column; however, it was written in a disrespectful manner to Black Student Union, One Mississippi and the Associated Student Body. As a member of BSU, I was offended by the assertion that BSU has only participated in the ASB debate which took place earlier this semester.

All you Fox News junkies, rejoice: The university has chosen Shepard Smith, host of the nightly "Fox Report," to speak during graduation May 10.

At first glance, Smith appears to be a perfect fit. Raised in nearby Holly Springs, an Ole Miss journalism student in the late '80s, Smith has gone on to become a renowned journalist whose face is instantly recognized all over the world.

Saying goodbye.

It's one of those things in sports that's never easy, and has almost become cliché.

Michael Jordan tried three times and never could get it right. Brett Favre is still trying. Roger Clemens? Nobody cares about his goodbye anymore.

So now that it's time for me to say goodbye, I'm not exactly sure how.

Many people on campus may not know, but Ole Miss has a men's lacrosse team that has experienced a myriad of success.

In the team's first year as a member of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) Division 1, they are headed to the playoffs. Head coach John McCreery hopes a playoff run will gain his team some recognition and respect around campus as well as across the country.
