Seattle:
Seattle had all the momentum in the world after sneaking into the playoffs and then defeating defending Super Bowl Champions the New Orleans Saints in the first round. However, if anything, their draft ruined that momentum and may have even set them back. Their major need going into the draft was a quarterback, and they passed on TCU quarterback Andy Dalton with the 25th pick in the first round to take Alabama offensive lineman James Carpenter.

With lyrics as cutting edge as “gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal” and asking the age-old question, “Which seat should I take?”, Rebecca is appropriately being hailed as a 13-year-old pop prodigy princess.

Everywhere except the Internet.

From YouTube to Memebase to 4chan and beyond, Rebecca’s brilliant achievement is being denigrated as “not even remotely OK,” “epic fail” and “worse than Justin Bieber.”

The more aware the general public becomes about a certain set of circumstances, the more skeptical it becomes of the claims of innocence and nescience expressed by a couple of characters central to the story. In the case of Heisman Trophy frontrunner Cameron Newton, his father Cecil – a bishop for a collection of Georgia-based churches – allegedly shopped him around during his recruitment last year without letting his son in on the secret.

1. Auburn (12-0 overall, 8-0 SEC): While Cam Newton could take up an entire highlight reel this year with did-you-see-that plays, Newton made his best play of year on Tuesday when he scrambled out of NCAA ineligibility. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the 2010 recipient of the Heisman Trophy, Mr. Cameron Newton.

1. Auburn (11- 0 overall, 7-0 SEC, 1st last week): The Tigers went “all in” with their decision to play embattled quarterback Cam Newton in a Southeastern Conference West clinching win over Georgia. Auburn’s decision makes sense: If the allegations of Newton accepting extra benefits are true, then the Tigers are in big trouble whether Newton played or not.

1. Auburn (9-0 overall, 6-0 in SEC, 1st last week): Is there anything that Tigers quarterback Cam Newton can’t do? The Heisman Trophy frontrunner runs like the wind – even at 250 pounds – and possesses pinpoint accuracy when passing the ball. Against Ole Miss, Newton added receiver to his repertoire, catching a touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Those in attendance of Saturday’s game between Auburn and Ole Miss likely got the feeling that the Ole Miss administration was expecting a much different result than the Tigers’ 51-31 drubbing of the Rebels.

1. Alabama (5-0 overall, 2-0 in SEC, 1st last week): Nick Saban may be a very angry man and might also have something against hillbillies (just Google it), but he sure as hell knows how to win a football game or two. The Crimson Tide demolished Florida thanks to a relentless defense – a unit that was supposedly Alabama’s weakness.

1. Alabama (4-0 overall, 2-0 in SEC, 1st last week): Another national championship looked as likely as Bear Bryant rising from the dead at one point on Saturday. The Crimson Tide, trailing throughout most of the afternoon at Arkansas, can thank an inspired secondary (three picks off Ryan Mallett) and the unstoppable forces of Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson for the comeback victory.

Just a few days ago, the quarterback situation at Ole Miss looked like this: Nathan Stanley in the starting-role with one collegiate touchdown and sparse mop-up duty under his belt, with redshirt freshman Raymond Cotton and junior college transfer Randall Mackey ready to take over if Stanley cracked under the pressure of SEC football, like every other quarterback we’ve had since Eli left for New York.
