Recently a bill was introduced in the Mississippi Legislature that would require drug tests for recipients of welfare. Instituting drug testing does not make sense financially and reinforces stereotypes of the poor. Additionally, there are more effective alternatives that can be enacted.

Last season was a rather dismal one for the Ole Miss baseball team.

Yes, they were five outs away from winning the SEC West, but they didn’t. They only won 30 games, including just 13 conference wins, and missed out on the SEC and NCAA Tournaments for the first time since 2003.

In other words, last year’s squad did not live up to the kind of expectations head coach Mike Bianco has instilled in his program since he was named head coach prior to the 2001 season.

The start of last night’s game between the Ole Miss Rebels and 13th-ranked Florida Gators could not have gone any better for the Rebels. Both players have seen the ups and downs of the Ole Miss football program in Nutt’s tenure, and both have played instrumental roles in some big wins.
