Like everyone else in the Ole Miss family, I love my university. I love the people, the tradition, the Grove and, yes, even class. I love the town of Oxford and the countryside in which it resides. I love the football games in the fall, the basketball games in the winter, the baseball games in the spring and all of the other sports in between.

While his success may have come to a bit of a shock to him, he was all but prepared for it.

From that day on, though, Aniefiok knew basketball was his ticket in life. He soon realized, however, that he needed to come to America to take his skills to the next level.

Do you take out time for yourself?

It is my morning ritual. My alarm goes off at 4:45, I am up by 5:00, and my feet are pounding the pavement by 5:20. As crazy as it might sound, I am a morning runner by choice, knocking out six to ten miles before the sun has even risen.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The other night, as I played the video game “Deus Ex: Human Revolution,” I was forced to make a decision.

I successfully discovered the leader of the terrorist organization that had infiltrated the medical facility I worked for, and I had to decide if I wanted to fight or try to talk him into leaving peacefully. The catch: He had a hostage, and her life depended on my decision.

“Kill him! Kill him!” my roommate was yelling beside me.

“But if I do that, she’ll die too,” I told him.

It’s good that we’re finally talking again; I’ve got all sorts of dark new material to share with you my friend. You’re familiar with the saying “opposites attract,” right?

I have for you a tale of two friends, a boy and a girl. They were a couple — well, not really a couple, but they were certainly attracted to each other. They’re a lot alike, sharing the same interests and having a similar sense of humor; they have a connection.
