The L.O.U. Barksdale Clubhouse of Oxford is currently hosting a silent online auction to raise funds for the Oxford Boys and Girls Club.

Young Life expands to Ole Miss

The Young Life organization of Oxford has been showing high school students the love of Jesus since 1941 and it intends to share this love with the college students of Ole Miss.

“So many students from Oxford going to Ole Miss know Young Life and are really comfortable with it,” Allen Hampton, Young Life area director, said. “It’s their home.”
Young Life nationally added a college ministry six years ago, but the local chapter in Oxford has been working on this addition for the past four years.

Bicycle enthusiasts come together for charity

The annual Double Decker Spring Ride will be held on Saturday, Apr. 30, in conjunction with the Double Decker Arts Festival.

The Oxford Cycling Club will host the event, along with the help of the Oxford Bicycle Company and Active Oxford.

In order to allow people to participate in both the Double Decker Spring Run and the Spring Ride, the board of directors has decided to move the starting time of the ride from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The starting line has been moved as well.

Students who have watched Whose Line Is It Anyway on television and thought, “I really want to do that!” are in luck.

The University of Mississippi has a group that improvises similar antics in Oxford. That group is Laff Co., and it has been bringing laughs to Oxford for several years.

Humane shelter to host Woofstock to raise funds
